Added Liu Kang
I added Liu Kang to the game. He is a pixie character, which means he is very fast (but more in a rush down that a hit and run way) but he has pretty low damage. His combo game is also worse than all other current characters.
Here are his specials
- Fireball (neutral) : A simple projectile, (maybe not very beautiful honestly). I made it to be not very good. Honestly I may have preferred to not give liu kang a fireball since it doesn't really fit his playstyle and it would have made him more unique. But since the sprites are there plus I had no real idea of what to put in its place... then I put it into the game. In the original mk2 game, all characters had projectiles because there were not really any archetype, so the best I can do to create said archetypes is to make some projectiles bad I guess.
- Flying kick (forward and air) : That's the big move right here. With its very low cooldown, it allows liu kang to really put the pressure on. It is also relatively safe, depending on what height you did the move, you can wavedash or attack right after it to make it safe.
- Bicycle (back) : Just a really fun move. It scales the damage massively though. I think it could theoretically be possible to wave dash after it to continue the combo with a light punch, but it is very hard so it would be well deserved damage.
- Cycle (down) : I invented this move by taking the sprites from one of the fatalities. It is a simple frame 1 invincible backdash. The last 3 frames of the move are not invincible though so you are punishable. It is not terribly useful against the AI but against a real opponent, espcially a character with good oki (like scorpion or subzero), I think it can be quite valuable.
- Fatality (initiated with down special at mid distance) : This is the classic mk1 pacific fatality. I incorporated a "minigame" in which if you spam punch during the fatality, it decapitates the opponent instead of just hitting them, and the height the head goes to is proportionnal to how much you spammed. I honestly like this idea of a "minigame" inside of the fatality and I think I will try to make more of them like this.
